Managing a BusinessThroughout different businesses you may find a lot of similarities when it comes to the manager of the business. In order to be a successful manager there are some traits and skills that a person needs to possess. Good job performance is based on some of these traits:

As a manager it isn't just important to lead those around you, it's your job. If a manager can't lead, they probably won't be a manager for very long. Employees look to their manager for guidance and experience. A good manager has to be a good leader. Delegation is also the responsibility of being the leader. A manager must identify strengths and weaknesses of members of the team and distribute work accordingly.
Managers must be effective at time management. They are ultimately responsible for the productivity of the members of their team. The manager is charged with keeping their employees on task and identify and working with any problems that come up.
When the company succeeds, the manager will succeed. If as the manager, that person doesn't put the company's needs first, the company may suffer. Without a company the manager has no one to manage. A good manager will think of the company when making decisions.
Along with being a good leader a manager should be able to motive their employees and those around them. Slumps are to be expected and people have bad days. As a manager, he or she should be able to lift people up and get them motivated about performing their job. This also means, as a manager you have to be self motivated. A manager needs to lead by example. It is common that a lot of successful managers will possess these traits. |
